Choose this output format to create Web Pages (HTML Files). These files can be viewed with any Web browser, like Internet Explorer, or Netscape, and they can be placed into the World Wide Web.
Currently, jose supports two layouts: a static layout that can be used for viewing and printing
(see example).
And a dynamic layout that uses JavaScript code to let the user actually replay the game on the Web page
(see example).
If you are planning to make HTML pages publicly available, you should make sure that the pages
can be viewed on other client systems as well.
For example:
Garamond
will not be available on all systems,
and Times New Roman
will most likely not be displayed on non-Windows systems.Controls the display of chess figurines. If this option is selected, figurines will be rendered witht TrueTypes fonts. To display the page correctly, the viewer must have the appropriate fonts installed on his system. For example, if you plan to put the HTML page into the Web, it's better not to use these fonts, but to use image figurines instead. You can also disable figurines and use normal characters instead: see Text Figurines .
If this option is selected, chess figurines will be displayed as small images. These images can be displayed on any viewer's system, regardless of the installed fonts. See also Text Figurines .
The dpi control adjusts the size of the created image files. Enter here the expected resolution of the viewer's screen.
The "dynamic" web page displays a chess board in the upper left corner of the page. To customize this chess board, use and modify the style "Diagram on Web page".
If this options is checked, jose will create a -so called- CSS style sheet that is referenced
from the HTML page.
If this option is not checked, the CSS information will be included into
the HTML page itself, resulting in slightly larger files.
If Image figurines are selected, jose will create a set of figurine images. By default,
these images are placed in the same location as the HTML page. You may, however, choose a fixed
location that is reference from the HTML page.
For example, if you like to store your HTML pages in a directory called C:\Internet Files\Chess Games
, you could
reserve a separate folder for images, say C:\Internet Files\Images
.
Click Create Images to create the images immediately. But jose will do this anyway when you save the HTML page.
Click Save As.. to save the HTML file. Choose a destination folder and file name.
If the HTML page references figurine images, they will be created in the same location, or
in the location specified by Location
Preview the HTML page in a Web browser.
(Note for Linux users: jose might ask you to enter the path to a web browser application)
